  • Withdrawing from friends and family
  • Loneliness

  • Anxiety

HOW TO AVOID HOLIDAY BLUES

  • Avoid Excessive Alcohol
  • Don’t Isolate Yourself
  • Exercise Regularly
  • Relax/Turn Off Electronics 15 to 20 minutes a day;  quiet time, read a book, listen to music, take a bath, do yoga, deep breathing etc.
  • Set Limits: Just say “no” 
  • Have Realistic Expectations
  • Humans need Touch: 20 second hug to volunteering increases a feel good chemical in the body

HOLIDAY BLUES USUALLY LAST FROM NOVEMBER TO DECEMBER;

If they last longer that is turning into major depression and it would be recommended to see a professional. Also seeing a professional during the holidays to help you through stressful temporary situations may aid in making the holiday run smoother.
