Real Over Perfect: The Bempathy® Shift!

Social media is “where it’s at,” and there seems to be a certain “look” required to do well on it. What happened to “being real”? Or loving people from within?

There are “pro’s and con’s” to most everything, our devices are not different. We have the ability to hide, enhance, or even turn ourselves into someone we’re not.

Then, when we meet people in the real world, they either don’t recognize us or we resort to extreme measures, like bone smashing, diet injections, or staying in our room and not even meeting people face to face.  Look at Japan and the increase in celibacy rate.

What is real and what is fake? That is the question!

This social craze of being someone we are not can be fun online, however there are real consequences such as social anxiety, body dysmorphia, eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia.

These mental health disorders focus on dissatisfaction with the body, and a distorted perception of what you really look like or who you are as a person.

  • Do you struggle with Social Anxiety?
  • Do you feel a lack of Motivation lately?

This is where Bempathy® comes in with positive/rational self-talk, empathizing and acceptance with a world of imperfection.

Bempathy® is “The voice of reason” in a world filled with “too much.”  Empathy needs a B…banter+ empathy with a win/win mindset.

This technique gets people to stop, step back, to see other perspectives and realize that we all are different and viva the difference!

There is nothing wrong with improvement, there something wrong with “Too Much.”  So, ask yourself how much is too much?

Bempathy®…The Voice of Reason…

Bempathy® stands for “banter + empathy.” The Banter synchronizes our brains with ourselves and with others. Even if people don’t like us. This light hearted chit/chat puts glue on empathy to get it to stick holding for a stronger connection.

Check any of the signs below that apply to you:

  • Constantly comparing your looks, life, or success to others
  • Feeling “less than” after scrolling
  • Taking and retaking photos to look perfect
  • Using filters because you don’t like how you really look
  • Obsessing over likes, comments, or views
  • Feeling anxious if a post doesn’t perform well
  • Avoiding mirrors but overanalyzing selfies
  • Thinking you need to change your body to “fit in”
  • Mood drops after being online
  • Valuing your worth based on online attention

If you checked one or more, stop, look, and ask: Is what you are doing working for you?

If scrolling leaves you feeling smaller instead of inspired, it may be time to set limits and use Bempathy® – banter + empathy with a win/win mindset.

Action Creates Reaction

Change YOUR Action to get the Reaction YOU want.

Bempathy®, we banter with others – and with ourselves – to stay connected, feel whole, and create balance. Ask Yourself:

  1. What do I want NOT what I don’t want?
  2. When is it too much?
  3. How do I find balance?
  4. What are “My” limits?

Bempathy® Tip:

Step back to see the big picture, ask the questions above, do ‘conversing with self’ which is in my book: Bempathy: simplify Communication By Looking At The Third Side Of The Coin.
